FAQ

How is a functional medicine different than conventional medicine?

Functional medicine shifts from the conventional disease-centered focus on health to a patient-centered approach to well-being. In functional medicine, the entirety of the individual is considered, rather than merely focusing on a distinct set of symptoms. Functional medicine practitioners invest time in engaging with their patients, examining their medical histories to evaluate the interplay among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that may contribute to long-term health and the development of complex, chronic ailments.

Do you work with children or men?

The majority of clients are female teachers, aged 25-60 years. Pediatric care is not offered at this time.

Where do appointments take place?

All appointments are virtual visits utilizing the secure platform Practice Better.

When is payment due?

For the highest quality care, an extensive amount of time is dedicated prior to your appointment to prepare. For 90-minute Initial Consultations, payment is required one week prior to the scheduled appointment. For 45-minute follow-up sessions, payment is due the day of the appointment.

What is the cancellation policy?

FOR NEW CLIENTS:
90-minute Initial Consultation appointments are automatically cancelled if payment is not made one week prior to your appointment.

FOR EXISTING CLIENTS:
Follow-up appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 3 business days in advance, or a 50% cancellation fee will apply.

Do you take insurance?

Due to costs and limitations that come with accepting insurance, we do not file with insurance.
